Script & Quill ("Script & Quill," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled through the Script & Quill website and the Script & Quill Reference Importer, including its integrations with Pinterest and Miro.
The Script & Quill Reference Importer is currently designed as a private, internal-use tool that allows the authenticated owner to access their own Pinterest Boards and Pins and selectively import visual reference material into Miro boards for project planning, visual research, design exploration, and organization.
1. INFORMATION WE MAY PROCESS
Depending on how the website or Reference Importer is used, we may process the following types of information:
Pinterest account information
When the Reference Importer is connected to Pinterest, it may access information made available through the Pinterest API for the authenticated account, including:
- Pinterest Board names and identifiers
- Pinterest Pin identifiers
- Pin titles or descriptions when available
- Pin image URLs and preview images
- Pin source URLs
- Board and Pin metadata provided by Pinterest
The application is intended to access only the authenticated user's own Pinterest Boards and Pins.
Pinterest authentication information
Pinterest authorization may provide access tokens and refresh tokens that allow the application to make authorized API requests.
Authentication credentials and tokens are treated as sensitive information. They are stored in local configuration or local application state and are not intentionally exposed in public source code or client-side application bundles.
Miro information
When references are imported into Miro, the application may create or update content on the Miro board authorized by the user.
Imported Miro content may include:
- Reference images
- Source URLs
- Pinterest Pin identifiers
- Pinterest Board identifiers
- Pinterest Board names
- Other source metadata used for duplicate detection and reference tracking
Website technical information
Our website hosting provider and related infrastructure may automatically process standard technical information associated with visiting a website, such as IP address, browser type, device information, request information, and server logs.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
Information is used only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve Script & Quill services and tools.
For the Script & Quill Reference Importer, information may be used to:
- Authenticate the owner with Pinterest
- Display the owner's Pinterest Boards and Pins
- Retrieve selected visual reference material
- Import references into Miro
- Preserve source information associated with imported references
- Detect previously imported Pins
- Reduce unnecessary Pinterest API requests through caching
- Display API usage information
- Diagnose errors or failed requests
- Maintain the security and reliability of the application
We do not use Pinterest information to build advertising profiles, sell advertising, or provide behavioral advertising services.
3. PINTEREST DATA
The Script & Quill Reference Importer uses the Pinterest API.
Pinterest information is accessed only after authorization by the authenticated account owner and only for purposes related to the operation of the Reference Importer.
The application does not intentionally:
- Access another user's private Pinterest account
- Sell Pinterest user data
- Sell Pinterest API data
- Use Pinterest data for advertising profiling
- Publish Pins without user direction and appropriate authorization
- Operate an advertising management service
- Redistribute Pinterest credentials or access tokens
Pinterest data is used primarily as source reference material selected by the authenticated account owner for import into their own Miro workspace.
Pinterest's own services and handling of information are governed by Pinterest's policies and terms.
4. MIRO DATA
The Reference Importer may send selected reference information to Miro when the user chooses to import content.
Once content has been added to Miro, that content is also subject to the user's Miro account settings and Miro's own policies and terms.
Script & Quill does not control how Miro independently processes information stored on its platform.
5. DATA STORAGE
The Reference Importer is designed with a local-first approach where practical.
Sensitive configuration, including API secrets and authorization tokens, is intended to remain in local application configuration or local application state and is excluded from public source repositories.
The application may locally cache Pinterest Board and Pin information in order to:
- Improve performance
- Reduce repeated API requests
- Respect API request limits
- Allow previously loaded information to be reused efficiently
Imported Pinterest references may remain on Miro boards until the user removes them.
6. DATA RETENTION
Locally stored authentication information, cached Pinterest information, and application state may remain on the user's device until it is:
- Deleted by the user
- Cleared through application configuration
- Replaced during reauthorization
- Removed as part of application maintenance
Content imported into Miro remains subject to the user's Miro account and board retention practices.
We do not intentionally retain Pinterest data longer than reasonably necessary for the operation of the Reference Importer.
7. DATA SHARING
Script & Quill does not sell personal information.
Information may be processed by third-party services only where necessary to provide the functionality requested by the user.
Relevant third-party services may include:
- Pinterest, for Pinterest authentication and API access
- Miro, for visual workspace and board functionality
- Website hosting and infrastructure providers used to operate the Script & Quill website
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, security requirements, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Script & Quill and its users.
8. DATA SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to reduce unauthorized access to sensitive application information.
These measures include practices such as:
- Keeping API secrets outside public source code
- Keeping sensitive credentials outside browser bundles where practical
- Using authorized OAuth flows
- Limiting Pinterest access to required functionality
- Avoiding unnecessary API requests
- Restricting the Reference Importer to its intended account and use case
- Separating private configuration from source-controlled application code
No system can guarantee absolute security, but Script & Quill seeks to minimize unnecessary collection, exposure, and transmission of sensitive information.
9. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROL
The authenticated user controls whether the Reference Importer is connected to Pinterest and whether references are imported into Miro.
The user may:
- Revoke Pinterest authorization
- Stop using the Reference Importer
- Remove imported references from Miro
- Clear locally stored application information
- Remove or replace locally stored credentials
- Request information about Script & Quill's privacy practices using the contact information below
10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Script & Quill Reference Importer is not intended for use by children under 13, and Script & Quill does not knowingly collect personal information from children through this application.
11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Pinterest and Miro are independent third-party services.
Use of those services is subject to their own privacy policies, terms, account controls, and data-handling practices.
Script & Quill is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party services.
12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as Script & Quill tools, services, integrations, or legal requirements change.
When the policy is updated, the Effective Date at the top of this page will be revised.
